NSW Battery Incentives: A Big Opportunity for Homeowners!
2024-12-10
Great news for NSW homeowners—battery incentives are now available, making it easier to adopt renewable energy solutions for your home or small business. Here's what you need to know about the program and how it can benefit you.
What Does This Mean for You?
If you're a NSW homeowner or small business owner, you can now access a discount on installing a battery with an existing solar system. Alternatively, you can include the discount in the quote for a combined solar and battery installation.
Unlike a traditional rebate, this incentive is provided directly to an accredited supplier, who passes on the discount to you via your chosen local installer. The incentive amount is proportional to the usable battery capacity (measured in kilowatt-hours, kWh). Larger batteries receive a greater incentive, but batteries over 28 kWh are not eligible for any discount.
Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility requirements for the NSW battery rebate are straightforward, with no income-based restrictions like the Victorian solar rebate. Here's what you need to qualify:
You must reside in New South Wales.
The installation can be for a home or small business.
The system can include new solar panels alongside the battery.
The installation must be connected to the grid (off-grid systems are excluded).
The battery capacity must be between 2 kWh and 28 kWh.
The battery must be listed on the Clean Energy Council’s Approved Battery List.
Are AlphaESS Batteries Eligible?
Yes! AlphaESS batteries are eligible for the NSW incentive program. With AlphaESS' latest 10-year product warranty and an impressive 3.12 MWh/kWh throughput guarantee, these systems are a reliable and cost-effective choice.
Eligible AlphaESS battery models include:
Smile-G3-S5/B5/S3.6 paired with G3-BAT-10.1P and G3-BAT-4.0S batteries
Smile-B3-PLUS
Smile5 Inverter with Smile-BAT-10.1P and Smile-BAT-13.3P batteries
How can installers/retailers apply for the rebate?
Installers now can claim the rebate via Accredited Certificate Providers (ACP), you will need to prepare some necessary documents for the claim which include risk assessment, photos of the working system, environment, and yourself. You will also need to fill in the form provided by ACP, and then submit them via their platform. AlphaESS systems are already listed with most ACP platforms, ensuring a smooth rebate process for customers.
This program presents a fantastic opportunity to upgrade the existing energy system while reducing upfront costs. Start your transition to cleaner energy today with an AlphaESS battery system and enjoy the benefits of NSW's battery incentives!
